scenario: 19" widescreen monitor
4 port ps/2 kvm switch
1 comp duel boot kubuntu/windows xp
problem: when windows loads up, it doesnt detect the monitor, im presuming
this is because of the kvm switch, and will not go greater then 1386x800(or
something similar). i need it to be able to tell it to use 1440 instead, no
matter what windows thinks. i know that i am able to use 1440x900 through the
kvm because kubuntu is working with it fine.
i have tried installing the drivers 4 the monitor but it wont auto detect
the correct driver, and forcing it to use the correct drivers only allows the
1386 resolution stated above.
unplugging the kvm and plugging the monitor directly into the comp allows me
to select 1440x900 as it should.
anyone have any ideas? or where to head to from here?
