Hi
I have an Windows XP sp2
Recently i formatted my system but after it got formatted my system has
become slow
I check the task manager and there was a Process services.exe which is
taking lot of processor time(more than 50% of the processor time)

Can any one give suggestions on this

Several Windows system processes run under services.exe and thus more
is needed to identify the cause. Download and run Process Explorer.
This will allow you to see inside services.exe and identify which
component is utilizing the processor. If I had to guess, I would think
it will be Automatic Updates (Wuauserv).

Paul,

This is the most likely candidate:

When you use Automatic Updates to scan for updates or to apply updates
to applications that use Windows Installer, you experience issues that
involve the Svchost.exe process
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932494

Unfortunately, MS has NOT updated the link for the 'WSUS version 3.0
client program' [ which actually is the Windows Update Agent/Client ]
to the latest version yet. But, installing the one from the link on the
page PLUS KB927891 should alleviate the CPU [processor] issue.
