Windows 2003 Server on peer to peer network

One complete fool

I have just installed windows server 2003 standard on a peer to peer
network.

All of the workstations CAN "see" the server but none can connect to
it as a peer. The error message:

"such and such is unavailabe. You might no have permission etc."

The sever CANNOT "see" the workstations at all.

The firewall is off.

Can someone help me fix this?

Since you have installed a server, you should now turn it into
a domain controller. This will enable you to administer your
accounts centrally and to join the workstations to the domain.

If you aren't using AD, you will need to create user accounts & passwords on
the server that match all the workstation user accounts & passwords. This is
a bit of a mess to administer, so you might consider running dcpromo to
create an AD domain....but do a little reading first.

If you aren't running WINS, consider installing it on the server and have
all the workstations specify the WINS server IP (your server) in their
ipconfig. Network browsing will work a lot better that way.
Make sure your workgroup names match (if you don't use AD).
