Security Log won't hold changes

Hey Guys,

I've got a rather annoying problem right now. One of the 2003 servers we're
running will not keep the event log overwrite settings when changed.
Currently it is set to the default of overwrite after 7 days and it is
getting filled up after about 3 days. I change it to overwrite as needed,
apply/ok the change, go back in and it's still marked; but if I log out and
back in as the same user, then check it, it reverts back to the old setting.

Anyone ever seen this before? If so, have any insight for a resolution?

Thanks for all your help!!

Hello,
that's a real poor workaround, but you may set it through gpo so it will
survive a reinstall, may apply to many servers, and being self documented.

Windows 2003?

Oh no, this isn't a work around for the security log filling up, I've already
taken care of that issue. But while working on it, I noticed that the log's
overwrite settings wouldn't hold the changes I made. And yes, It's W2K3
Server Standard.
