I've received three programs from Microsoft, now. In every case getting the
material out of the packaging has been a problem. In all cases it has raken
me over 5 minutes, and I have only been able to do it by destroying the
package. If this is high technology you can have it! Does anybody know the
secret?

What 'type' of files do you believe you received from Microsoft?
Did you request these files?

Thety were standard Microsoft products. One of them that I received today

I broke two fingernails trying to figure it out. Eventually got one opened.
The other one, I downloaded and followed the directions. Much easier. That's
probably why I could relate to the OP's posting. LOL

Actually it is perfect industrial design. The purpose of this packaging is to prevent it from being opened with anything but a pair of scissors making opening it in the store and stealing the CD almost impossible.

Retailers like it as well since it is almost Impossible to open the package, copy the cd and return it as "unopened".

packaging didn't just appear on the scene.
