Hi

Help needed. I have new computer, but about two week after purchase this
problem started.
The screen freezes with a Yellow and white checkard effect, then goes
black. The computer is still running but not the screen. The only thing to do
it hold the on off button on the tower and reboot. This happened a few times,
and I was going to contact my supplier. Then it stopped for about two weeks.
But it has just happened again????

Any ideas what the problem is???

It is in your Graphics. Have you updated the Graphics Drivers?
It is under Warranty if you are not sure, get them to do it!

As Mr. Murphy said, you have a problem with your graphics card. However, it
is unlikely to be a software (drivers) issue. Although you didn't say when
this happens, the symptoms you describe are of a faulty video card.
Hardware failures tend to be random until the component dies forever so
your experience of it stopping and starting is normal.

New computer + hardware problems like yours = take it back for
repair/replacement immediately.

OK, Mick! I just like to be polite until invited to call someone by their
first name. Since you invited me, Mick it shall be. :-)

Cheers,

Malke
