Since Intel is has released quad core processors will future releases of
SBS 2003 and later support quad core technology?

I've built a few servers recently using 2 dual core Xeon processors
with SBS 2003 standard and from what I've seen it recognizes each core
as a physical processor.
On Microsofts website it says that SBS 2003 will support 2 "physical"
processors but each core to my understanding is not considered a
physical processor.

Also does anyone know of a patch that will fix this?

Supports 1-4 processors out of the box. So if you do dual dual cores you are
covered to 4 cps. No if you did 4 processors dual core you would need to
license 8 processors.

Server 2003 Standard supports 1-4 CPUs out of box
Small Business Server 2003 supports 1-2 CPUs out of box
I've been able to get it to recognize the 2 extra processors with
hyperthreading enabled but it takes a hit on speed
