Hi,
I'm new to the forums - just joined today! I am an administrator for an IT consultancy. I need some help on something, I want to create a CD containing a number of network connections, that I can simply send to other people, rather than having to set up 10 new connections every time a new client arrives. Does anyone know how (if at all possible) I could save and export a number of network connections and their properties? Most of the clients run XP.

Any thoughts would be much apreciated.

Peter

I'm fairly certain you can't export a collection of network settings. It would be nice (hint to any MS folk reading ;)), but I think that the properties of a connection are tied to closely to the hardware to trasfer between anything but identical machines (in which case Ghost would really be better, I would think). I've read about this being possible under Windows 98, through some form of ctrl-drag technique, but not having a Win98 machine to try it on, I don't have anything specific.

I thought maybe settings and transfer wizard would work, but, I was mistaken. As Gavino said netwrok connections are tied to hardware so unless the hardware is the same across all boxes you'll have to manually change each one.
