I have an application which I installed on XP quite a few years ago. It was an upgrade that required a "previous" install disk (floppy) and I
can't find that floppy anymore. (I have the CD.) The program was expensive then, but is now about 6 times the price, and I could not afford to replace it
with a new version. Is there any way of saving off the complete program--all the various bits and pieces and Registry data so I can install it on a Windows 7 system? (The application is AutoCADLT.)
This XP system is somewhat corrupted-- most things work, but it doesn't boot cleanly. I have run some cleanup programs on it in hopes of
improving the situation, but no joy. Even Firefox cannot download anything now. So I have to reinstall it or replace it no matter what.
The system dual-boots with PCLInuxOS, and of course the XP system and all its files are accessible from the Linux system, if that an be used to
solve the problem. I could selectively copy any files that are needed and put them on a flash drive for reinstallation on a Windows 7 system.
Thanx for you assistance--doug
