Anyone here using a Samsung SSD like the 850 Pro? If so reply here because I am noticing some questionable activity when using the Samsung Magician RAPID mode. I am beginning to wonder if this RAPID mode is beneficial at all. Anyway if you have one let's talk.

I have a few Samsung 830's that are rock solid drives in use for a few years but not 850 Pros.
I would personally be reluctant to use that mode Gimbo as I read all the hype but you know these drives are so fast to begin with, why screw with something that is so fast already sounds like looking for trouble though the hype suggests there should be absolutely no issues.

Okay let me fill you in on what I am seeing. From what I understand of the RAPID mode is that it uses RAM to speed reads. On my system I am seeing hundreds of RAM hard faults on boot. First I thought this may be due to my RAM over-clock so I de-tuned and rechecked it only to find the same scenario happening. So my next thought was test the RAM and everything tested out fine. I then started thinking it maybe RAPID mode because that uses RAM however, I tested with and without RAPID mode with the same results. So I may have jumped the gun last night in pointing the finger at RAPID mode. If I find the culprit I will fill you in.
Just out of curiosity do you use Win 8 and RAPID mode on any of your machines? If so do me a favor and fire up resource monitor ASAP after login. Watch the memory panel for hard faults and report your findings. Easiest way I have found to launch it is go to Task Manager -> Performance tab and on the bottom of that tab is Open Resource Monitor.

P.S. I am using version 4.5 of the Magician software.

I have Windows 8 on my All-in-One but am not using Rapid mode. You know really when I took this Dell roadblock and switched the 1 Tb Seagate sata drive for the Ssd drive, I am still rocked by the difference and I did this months ago so I cannot imagine wanting anything to be faster. I can barely see the pages changing now. BTW the server with the two Ssd drives is blisteringly fast. I was going to up that to 32 Gb ram but I cannot figure out why I would do that.
