Hi, can someone help me out please?

When I come to disconnect my sat-nav after update, I have to do so via the
'safely remove hardware' icon in the system tray. Sometimes this icon isn't
there and if I eject the sat-nav without using the said icon, it goes into a
huge sulk.

I'd like to know how I can make that icon appear in the system tray, if it
does not appear on it's own on bootup, which happens from time to time. Can
somone please tell me where to look in order to make it show up in the system
tray?

Thanks.
