Re: help needed

Hi, looking for help on a run.dll error.

I loaded XP and it screwed up my system. When I removed it the following RUN.DLL Window error message appears on startup.

"Error Loading NVQTWK.DLL The system cannot find the file specified."

How do I fix it?

I am having a similar problem except mine is for WindowsME, and it is not allowing me to get online to go to Microsoft.com to correct the problem. What can I do, it says that some file cannot be found and when I go to log on to the Internet, it comes up that Internet Explorer can not be found and then there is also a DSN error.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You probably mean a DNS error, not a DSN error.

DNS is DOMAIN NAME SERVER.

On windows ME this means that your internet connection is probably configured incorrectly, or a driver is not installed.

Whats happening here, is since its missing a file or configured wrong, it doesn't know how to get on the internet.

1) Short for Domain Name System (or Service or Server), an Internet service that translates domain names into IP addresses. Because domain names are alphabetic, they're easier to remember. The Internet however, is really based on IP addresses. Every time you use a domain name, therefore, a DNS service must translate the name into the corresponding IP address. For example, the domain name www.example.com might translate to 198.105.232.4.
The DNS system is, in fact, its own network. If one DNS server doesn't know how to translate a particular domain name, it asks another one, and so on, until the correct IP address is returned.

Also, if you can tell me what .dll file it says is missing I can give you more info on HOW to replace it.

But to save you a bit of time, ALL your ME files can usually be found in C:\Windows\Options\Install

Unless its an HP or some other brands, the file would be under a different directory.
