This is a question from a sample exam in Michael Jang's study guide for RHCSA/RHCE;
"Set up a vsFTP server with access to the server1.example.com and the physical host system"
The first two parts of the question are simple. The third part "...and the physical host system" is...odd?
Let's say the physical host machine is on 192.168.1.100/24.
The VMs are on a Virtual Network on the physical host machine of 192.168.122.0/24. Server1 is 192.168.122.50.
If the physical host (192.168.1.100) pings 192.168.122.50 (server1) then server1 is going to see the IP as it's default gateway (192.168.122.1) not 192.168.1.100.
So how can I restrict access to 192.168.1.100 and 192.168.122.50 if server1 can never see the IP as 192.168.1.100? Am I missing something or is this not a good practice question? There's an NFS one just like it in this sample exam so I'm trying to make sure I'm not missing something.
