My operating system is Widows Vista home office version on my ASUS F3Series
laptop.
I have set up an automatic back up of my files to my USB WD removable drive
however when attempting to restore my files through the restore facility on
Vista the only drives that can be located are the two drives on the laptop
and not the USB WD removable drive.
Any idea why and how I can locate the USB WD removable drive?

Regards

Most likely the problem lies with the restore software you are using.

Thanks Eduardo I am using the back up and restore facility that comes wiht
Vista Business.

Note that my operatins system is Windows Vista Business and not "Widows
Vista home office " as I described it in my original email.

Seems way odd that you could set up your ext disk as a destination but when
it comes time to restore it can't be located as a source. Are you sure you
didn't set up the software that came with the disk to do the auto backup?
You would have to use that software to restore as well, not windows backup.
Just a thought and maybe a dumb one.
