There is a feature in XP rthat will let me remove all but last system restore
point -- but darned if I can find it. I know it's a simple procedure ... Can
anyone tell me how to get to the right screen?

Thanks

Just move the slider down to a minimal setting

From the KB article titled:
Frequently Asked Questions Regarding System Restore in Windows XP
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/community/newsgroups/faqsrwxp.mspx

"To delete all but the latest restore point on your machine by using the
disk cleanup utility: Go to 'Start > All Programs > Accessories > System
Tools > Disk Cleanup'. Click on the more options tab and then click 'Clean
up' in the System Restore"
