im having troubles with my windows xp it seems when i plug in my psp it says
its connected but when i got to my computer i don't see it there. i thought
it was just my pc but i tried it on the pc in the living room and i started
having the same problems a few days after. my psp wont show in any of my xp
pcs but when i connect it to the 2000 it works fine. COuld someone suggest a
fix for this? i tried it on my aunts pc it loads fine but not on my pcs.
could it be i plug it in too much?

P.S. My regular xp has service pack2 pro
and my spare has service pack 1

you could try removing the drive from the PC then going into control panel >
System > Hardware > Device manager and deleting the PSP drive from anywhere
that you can see it. (Under Disk drives or Universal Serial Bus
controllers). (Are there any other errors appearing under Device Manager?)
Then restart the computer and try plugging the PSP back into another,
differnet USB port.

I've tried that already i even uninstall'd the driver and it was reinstalled
it in but it still gave me the same problem. Do i need to get a new usb
driver? or its my psp? Well its not just my psp but anything i plug in wont
show in my computer. i think its the usb port. but it doesnt show any
problems in device manager tho . odd

Have you seen the post from earlier from the_best_of_fools that has been
answered by Pegasus? I have copied it below but it might help.

Use System Restore to return the machine to a point before the
problem became apparent.

Some weeks ago I had the same problem with a laptop. It turned
out that the USB controller must have failed. When I used a PCMCIA
card with 4 USB ports, things worked perfectly well.
