hey everyone.im new here and im having a problem with my laptop computer..its a HP Pavilion ze5700. okay, my Internet Explorer started shutting down due to a error.so i ran Ad-Aware to fix the problem and i rebooted afterwards.now my laptop is in a continuous reboot loop, even when i choose to have it on Safe Mode.the screen will stay black for a few minutes, then a series of commands such as

multi (0) disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\windows\system32\DRIVERS\BATTC.SYS

what should i do to get my system back to regular status? please help :)

also a blue screen with some writing comes up before it reboots, but it goes away too fast.anyone have a idea of how to fix this?

Choose last known good configuration and see if that brings it back, your PC might have done an autoupdate, or perhaps even has a spyware program that messed up a .dll file.

Could be a problem with IE which may be caused by spyware/adware screwing with it.

Download IEFix from http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm.
Close IE and run IEFix. Make sure you have your XP CD handy when you run this.
This will repair any errors your IE installation has.

Then if you dont check your PC for spyware/adware etc:

First off click 'Start / Run' and type 'msconfig'.
Pick 'Selective startup' the untick the 'Load Startup Items' box.
Click OK but dont reboot.

Open up Internet Explorer.
Click 'Tools / Internet Options'.
Click the 'Programs' tab.
Click the 'Manage Add Ons' button.
Disable any addons not published by 'Microsoft Corporation'.

Download the three following programs.
Spybot S&D http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022-10289035.html
Adaware http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=lst-0-1
and Microsoft Antispyware http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
Update the programs over the internat so they have the latest definitions, then run them in safe mode (keep pressing F8 at boot and select the 'Safe Mode' option) to get rid of any nasties.
