Hi, I just installed XP SP2 on this computer 2 days ago, I installed my
Realtek Drivers, and they worked fine, I installed nVidia drivers, and those
didn't work, forcing me to re-install. I re-installed, installed nVidia
drivers, they're working fine... I installed Realtek drivers and they don't!

Every time I try to install them I get an error message saying 'Install
Realtek HD Audio Driver Failure !!'. I tried installing several versions of
the driver, but all give the same result. When I go to Device Manager it
tells me that there's an error because there's a problem with the drivers. I
tried updating them through device manager, didn't work, tried uninstalling
the drivers, didn't work either, because it tells me they might be needed to
boot... Can anyone help me?

I would talk to both realtek and nvida and see if there was a known issue
with driver conflicts, if make them aware, I would also try older drivers for
both hardware items and see if that made a difference

Well, I have tried the original nVidia drivers that came with the computer,
and the new ones. For the Realtek I tried the original ones as well, and also
2 older versions, all give the same problem. The weird thing is, on my Vista
partition (using an XP - Vista dual-boot) everything works fine... I will be
contacting them about this after I try one more time (re-installing again).
Anyway, thanks for the reply :).

Oh right, is there a way to remove the Realtek drivers or uninstall the whole
thing without using Device Manager? When I click on any of the options in the
drivers tab I get either an error message or just nothing happens. When I try
to uninstall it, I get an error saying I can't uninstall it because it might
be needed to boot...
Some treads I have read about problems similar to this one talked about
uninstalling it in the BIOS, but I don't know how to, I've got no experience
with this at all =/.

Ok, re-installing and installing drivers before installing all of the updates
worked... Hope it'll still work after the updates :/.

If you have not gotten your driver situation straight, this will work:
Go into Device Manager, under the system folder, right click the ms uaa
high definition bus driver. disable the device and uninstall it. you
will be able to load the realtek driver. reboot and enjoy your hd
audio! it is that simple.
