Hi guys,

I also have just encountered this error with Windows Update. And I too
have my program files moved to another driver (E: in my case).

I changed the ProgramFilesDir and CommonFilesDir values in the
registery at HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion to point to
my E: and the Windows Update error has been resolved.

And I've now got a hidden $$PendingFiles directory on my E: drive.

BTW I'm using Vista Ultimate 64-bit SP1.
