Hello,

I also have a similar problem. I tried to install Windows XP on an
older 8665c, with 256k RAM, 40GIG HD, and a 600mhz Proc.

It installed successfully and rund intermittenly.

Every couple of hours I get the "Blue Sceen of Death" & it reboots - if
anyone else has this issue, please contact me:

Lmay678@gmail.com

Thanks,

L

lmay678, it's safe to ignore messages like the above from our resident
troll, Andrew E. You may or may not have enough RAM for the
applications you run. If you don't have enough RAM, you will find that
your performance will suffer, but a blue screen of death will *not*
result from it.

From the little information you've provided, I can't tell what your
problem is, but this isn't it. For more information, post back with
the stop error on the BSOD.

: ) I can't help butting in with one of my favorite positions on 'free
speech'. Although the law says you can't yell 'fire' in a crowded theater,
there is, in reality, always the freedom to also yell 'there is No fire"
This case is such a perfect illustration of that.

Ken,

Thanks. I have knows people who INSIST on installing XP on 128 MB,
400mhz Machines. As long as you turn off all the "bells & whistles" of
XP, it doesn't run too bad. ALthough I wouldn't reccommend XP on a
machine of such low-caliber, Xp isn't as much of a "resource hog" as
Vista.

As far as the BLue Screen goes, I'll let you know if I can catch
another screen shot - its one of those "super-fast" blue screens, and
its pretty hard to catch it.

Sometimes when it reboots it gives the message "Windows has recovered
from a serious error" - next time it does that, I'll get some more
details.

Thanks again in advance,

-L

You can go to system properties..advanced tab..click settings under
Startup and Recovery and uncheck Automatically Restart and it will stop
on the BSOD so you can read it.
