I am having the same problem. Is there a solution for this? I have Vista
Home Premium on my laptop. I just noticed the problem. I haven't fiddled
with it so I know it isn't something I have done. I want to see my history,
but it isn't there and the only options I have is the burn tab. Thanks.

What software was recently installed onto this PC, and where did it come
from?

I likely know how you got into this state, but knowing what horribly
software was installed before this happened would be illuminative.

Not sure. I use the laptop for work, school and home. Software comes and
goes. What might you be looking for specifically? This has been an issue
for a while, but I ignored it until I wanted to look for a video I played
some time ago. The history doesn't change. It is frozen in time...not sure
how to explain it.

I'm pretty specifically looking for SatelliteTVforPC 2006. It's possible
some other software is accidentally doing the same very bad thing, though,
so if somebody else accidentally(?) decided to do that same bad thing, it
would be imperative to know as soon as possible so they can be kindly
advised to stop doing that.

To clarify: is this a 64bit or a 32bit machine?

My new FAQ note on this:

===
Why do I only see the Burn tab in the player on Vista?

If you install SatelliteTVforPC 2006 anywhere, it will install and register
a private copy of "wmp.dll" version 10 onto the system. This is really bad.
You will then need to reinstall the player in order to fix the issue. (If
you're only seeing the Burn tab in the player, you're pretty much guaranteed
that you've hit a bad wmp.dll registration issue.)

Because it is not possible to reinstall the player on Windows Vista, your
best option is to reinstall Vista itself on top of itself. If you are on a
32bit Vista system, you can tentatively use this unsupported fix to get you
back to the right state:
http://zachd.com/pss/WMPVistaReset-x86.zip
but this is not supported, no warranties are implied, and it is ONLY
intended to fix you up if you have installed SatelliteTVforPC 2006 by
accident. If you attempt to use it for anything else, you are making an
unsupported mistake.

If you have this problem due to ANY other software, please please speak up
about what other bad software might be doing this.

If you have this problem due to SatelliteTVforPC 2006, PLEASE tell the
people you got it from that that product has been pulled from market and
they should not be selling/distributing it any longer.

Thanks,
-Zach

I didn't have that software on the computer...at least I didn't see it. That
said, your file got the job done. Thanks of being smarter than I.

What software was installed or uninstalled to the computer before this
happened? It is really critical for the good of other users that I
understand who corrupted the player on your system if possible. =(
