Wrong. The alpha relase is the current Vista. Vista SP2 will be the beta.
Then comes Windows7, replacing Vista with the next alpha-release
Shorthorn MCD was pre-alpha. It was done as a playground for all those
features MS programmers proved to be too incompetent, so they were removed
from Vista
