RE: Operating System not found

RE POST OF 11/20/2007

Hi
I formated my HDD on my laptop and when I boot the system I get a message
''Operating system not found''. I tried another HDD which I know is ok and
still get the same message Any idea's please.

Im sorry I dont think I explained very well.
Yes I know when you format one has to reload the HDD from the boot disk.
My problem the system cannot find the HDD even if I load the boot disk it
tells me no HDD detected.
Been on to manufacture and they want me to send it to one of there workshops
and there would be a charge.
I thought there was a program to reset the bios if this is where the problem
maybe

Did you set the BIOS to boot from CD as the first boot location?

Yes Pc boots in to BIOS ok that is when get message operating system not
found. When I boot from cd I get windows setup and files downloading. When
press enter to load windows I get Message: Setup did not find any hard disk
drives. Hope you have some idea's

You misunderstood my post. You need to set your BIOS to boot from CD as the
first boot device. Then you can re-install your OS....
 
Yes have tried that still get same message: Setup did not find any hard disk
drives.
As I said previously I tried a HDD that I know is working ok.

Then I suggest you check the connecting cable to the HDD to make sure it's
a) not unplugged and b) replace with a known good one...
