Last time I read them they seemed to be a fairly American supportive
organization. Just because they use an Arab name, doesn't mean they
support terrorism. It was a good place to get football, (meaning
soccer), scores too.

One could argue that several American TV channels are "extremist". To one's
national perceptive, the "us" versus "them" or the effect of
government-imposed manufactured consent can be blinding. To judge a channel
you need to check the level of hypocrisy sometimes.

I highly doubt *that*.

This I'll agree with. If nothing else, they have an
interesting viewpoint, and they probably don't like
al Qaeda any more than we do.

No really. I was actually getting a little fed up with them for being
so conventional. I thought they'd be making excuses for the Islamic
resistance fighters and offering angry arguements. What I saw was a
slant not unlike an American paper, but more stories about the Middle
East, of course. I was quite surprised.

No I don't think they do, although I haven't followed their articles
very closely lately, but there's not many who like Al Qaeda. I don't
like them either.

I'm actually a card carrying member.
I went to a local chapter meeting many years ago and never went back.

I think what you really meant was that you qualified for a job at Mensa
headquarters a long time ago. Remember putting that application in for
Custodian?

At least he's not supporting Fox News.

Re: Al Jazeera Uses GNU/Linux

I thought CNN was a division of Al Jazeera...Fox at least reports without
the spin.

Yea I know,,,I left myself open on that one but these people really were
weird.
One guy was talking about a painting they had on display ( the party was in
an art gallery) and this particular painting was nothing more than a blank
canvas with a diagonal line, purple I think, drawn in one corner.

The guy commented "Andy likes to work with space" (Andy was the artist)

That was enough for me..........

Ahh, Gary's off on one of this racism trolls, then. Yesterday, I did a
fresh search of the Astra 1 & 2 satellites and found that the Al Jazeera
english service is back up and running again, something which is good to
see. It's the closest thing to independent reporting I've seen out of
the Gulf region. I can dig out the transponder information if you want.
