I have Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 and Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Hotfix
(KB886903) installed on my Win XP Home SP 2 Dell 8200 X 86 computer. But I do
not have .NET 2.0 or .NET 3.0 installed.

Is there any reason I should install either or both of them? (I'm not aware
of any problems due to not having them installed.)

Thanks,
Milt

You would only need to install .NET 2.0 or .NET 3.0 if you installed an
application that required those newer versions of the framework. The
application installer should inform you of that dependency, including
instructions on how to install. So I wouldn't worry about installing
the newer versions until such time as you are using an application that
requires the newer versions.
