Heads UP!!!
If you are removing McAfee, it is almost impossible to remove all the
registry entries, processes, and program installs. Search their web site and
get the removal tool to completely remove it.

Download McAfee Removal tool:
http://download.mcafee.com/products/licens...atches/MCPR.exe

Microsoft does not develop McAfee products, McAfee does. "Jase", I suggest
you search this newsgroup for "best antivirus", "best security" and so on.
You will find buckets of opinions, some even informed ones, on what security
software to obtain. McAfee is rarely recommended...

Search Microsoft Vista Security newsgroup:
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsg....vista.security

McAfee Online 2008 products are compatible with both 64 and 32-bit Vista,
the 2007 products were only compatible with 32-bit. However anyone buying
boxed CD would most likely need a Vista patch to enable compatibility.

Why? Because they say so?

No, they weren't.
