Well, it was nice while it lasted. I'm still on Version 6.0 (Build 6000),
but since Friday, I've once again lost the functionality of the eye dropper
tool in various programs. Does anyone know if any of the recent Windows
Updates could have affected this feature?

I finally figured out a solution to this... right-click on the EXE file for
each program involved. Click the Compatibility tab and changing the setting
to Windows XP. All of my color pickers work again!

Good tip. I don't know what the idiots of Redmond did, but they sure
messed up the usability of the color picker in several applications. I
like you just dropped Sony's Vegas back to XP SP2 level and that
restored full function. It would work in Vista if you only selected a
single pixel, but if you tried to select an area to get a better fix
for the color correction it wouldn't work anymore.

Just more proof Microsoft picks too many amateurs as beta testers that
not only have trouble finding simple things wrong but remain utterly
clueless on if or not higher end applications, especially higher end
graphic applications have some of their tools messed up. Because lets
be honest, they simply don't know how to use them.
