Hi I'm pawn. I'm new here and I still haven't won played 71 and counting
times.

What I don't understand is when you just have your king or more why
does just one blue square light up? Because you end up losing. I just
wish it would stop only lighting up one square. I'm NEVER going to win
then. Also when you promote your pawn to queen, rook, knight, etc every
time I do that it gets captured. No matter what I promote it to. Is that
right? Or is the computer cheating?

If you are playing at the easiest level, and you cannot beat the computer,
the only explanation is that you are a very bad chess player.

When you promote a pawn, you have to make sure that the square cannot be
attacked before you get the new piece out of danger. Obviously, the enemy's
rooks cannot be a threat, or any other pieces.

Funny, I beat it on my first try. Killed a couple of idle afternoons with
it and whooped it 78 times, 4 draws, 2 losses. (Default level 2 I think).

Some weaknesses.

1) Does not seem to factor in en-passant. It makes some wild errors when
you use en-passant. Like a kid having a hissy fit as it didn't know you
could do that.

2) Stacking two rooks infront of the queen, does not see the double/triple
coverage to the kings home line. Always end up getting the queen for a root
and often checkmate.

3) Once you find it has made a mistake, take 5 to see the situation.

4) It is good at finding stalemate. Real tick off when you have a bishop
causing stale mate and your up 2 rooks and a queen.

5) I usually loose at the default level from sloppy moves. (I don't undo
unless the piece got dropped where I didn't intend it to).

What would be interesting is to crank both Titans and GNU/Chess to their max
and have them play each other. My money is on GNU/Chess.

In my experience Chess Titans plays very poorly, and is easy to beat.
There are lots of much stronger Chess-playing software, such as Fritz.

But we don't all have the same Chess-playing skills. I used to be an
active tournament player.
