Random DVD-ROM drive access

Hi,

For the past couple of days, I've noticed that something is causing my
DVD-ROM drive to randomly be accessed... for example, the last case was about
1/2 hr. ago, where I was doing a routine thing (reading posts on a forum),
and suddently the DVD-ROM drive starts spinning. It just spins for a few
seconds, and then stops. It has done this about 2 or 3 times in a short
period of time each day. There is a DVD in the drive, but there usually is,
and this hasn't happened before. Only time it normally spins is when using
Windows Explorer or loading up a DVD.

How do I figure out what is causing this? I got suspicious that maybe
there's some kind of malware installed, but I keep my security programs
enabled and up to date, and run regular full scans -- no malware detected.

Best Wishes,
Kurosh

It's probably the specific cd or dvd that is the drive because of the
file structure tree. Some do this when you open explorer and some don't.
Just take it out of the drive when not using it.
