It shouldn't be possible to boot XP with 29mb of ram. You describe
this as "available RAM" which suggests you're using the wrong spot to
get your system information. It's listing "free ram" rather than
"total ram"
Try: windows logo key+pause, to get what windows acknowledges as the
total amount of RAM.
The other problem you have is only 128mb of ram in a system that
should have 256. It could be integrated video, though it's unlikely,
as 128mb is too large for a system in that class. The other
possibilities are:
Bad stick of ram
Bad Ram slot
1 stick unseated
One stick not compatible with your system.
Ram is a higher density than your system supports. (this is the case
if there is only 1 stick of ram total)
Bigdawg:
XP will indeed run on 128mb, just not particularly well. XP can even
run on 64mb, but that's for masochists.
