I have an HP desktop w/ XP Home that has been reformatted to factory
settings (complete with tons of bloatware) and I'm ready to use the Vista
Upgrade version. My question is should attempt to clean out all the
bloatware before I upgrade or wait and do it in Vista?

Clean out the junk first. Some of the pre-loaded software may not be
compatible and might be difficult to uninstall after upgrading.

Better solution, format the disk and install the Vista clean
