I'm about to install Acronis True Image 11 Home from a CD on my Dell
Dimension running Windows XP SP3. I also have Norton Internet Security. I'm
guessing I should disable Norton and turn off my DSL modem for the time it
takes to install the new program. Right?

If so, is it sufficient to simply turn off Norton's AutoProtect? Or does
something else need to be done?

Thanks much!

Jo-Anne

I turn off 'Auto Protect' and use Zone Alarm to block Inet traffic.
This has worked for me without problems.

Hi Jo-Anne,

Usually one can install programs without doing either. If for some
reason the install doesn't complete, then I would disable Norton and try
again. But I doubt you'll have any issues as long as your login has
sufficient rights.

It will work just fine with everything running.
