I have been trying to resolve this problem now for a few days but not
success. I have 2 XP machines in an peer to peer enviroment. One of them is a
server with some Raid 5 drives attached to it, the other one is used only for
running backup sofware for backing up to a robotic tape library.
Booth computers work fine and I have access to all shared folders. However,
on both computers the Program and the Windows Folders are locked and not
accessible, but only when trying to access those folders from the other
machine.
For example I can access the Program and Windows Folder of from Server 1
just fine as long as I'm doing this from Server 1. I cannot accerss those
folders however when I try to open them form the Bachup Computer.
I need to install a Backup Agent on Server 1 and it only will install when I
run it through the Backupmachine. Since I can not access the Windows and
Program Folders however, it will not install.
On both machine I have administrative rights by the way.
