I need some help on Windows 2000 transfer. I am trying to transfer all my
data from 2000 to XP. I would like to use my previously purchased software on
the new system but it gives me an error of "invalid product key". I know that
I have the correct product key so that cant be the issue. How do I transfer
the product key of the software from the old PC onto the new one? Any kind of
help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
~phoenix

The Product Key for Windows 2000 will not work with Windows XP.

If you are installing Windows XP you need to use the key that came
with the Windows XP CD.

If you are using the correct key, look very closely, O-0, B-8, S-5 and
others look alike.
Have someone else try. Sometimes another set of eyes and fingers can
get it right.

Okay, that information led me to another issue that apparently is the key
problem. The product key for Microsoft Office 2003 is the one that is giving
us the "invalid product key" error. So we are trying to take the MS Office
2003 off of the Windows 2000 and transfer it over to the Windows XP. We do
have the XP key already and everything but the Office is transferring just
fine. Any help from anyone is greatly apprecaited.
