I just put together a computer and loaded XP. Before you chastize me, I know it is ancient and about to run out of support, so I am doing this now because I already own an XP disc and cannot afford an upgrade right now. I just want a simple machine to email, that's it. This machine should be adequate.
After loading the OS, I tried to run Windows Update, I know there are about a thousand updates.
But when I tried running Updates, first it told me I had to update my browser to Windows 8 so I did, and re-booted.
Now when I try running Windows Update, It quickly tells me "The website has encountered a problemand cannot display the page you are trying to view."
I know this isn't much to go by, but that's all I have.
