MSACCESS 2003 cannot generate reports in vista home premium.
Nor can it open some reports, made under windows XP.
I can open one report based on a query and copy it.
This copy I can edit, thus making new reports, but starting from scratch is
not possible. The wizard functions, but at the end it produces a window
saying that the wizard cannot make the report

I would take ownership of the reports imported from XP.
Add Take Ownership to right-click menu in Vista:

click the Ratings button. Voting helps the web interface.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the tip on the registry hack. One wonders why Microsoft
didn't include the 'Take Ownership' in the standard right-click menu?

To the original poster,

Consider the alternative to take ownership of those Access files so
that they will work (BTW you shouldn't need to do this with future
files. It's an artifact of how they were copied to your drive)

Right click the file/folder that you wish to take ownership, select
Properties, Security tab, Advanced button, Owner tab, select your ID
from the 'Change owner to:' list (if your name does not appear in the
list, then click the Edit button and select your name from that list).
And, click okay, okay all the way out.

You could use this method instead of the easier method that Mark
proposed.
