Hi,
I have a case number for tech support for Windows Server 2008. The event
but I they keep switching me to India and I have trouble hearing speech over

Thanks,

This is unfortunately not the place to ask for support from MS, or for
Windows Server 2008. This is a user group for Vista, with only minimal
participation by MS.

You should call support back and tell them what it is you need them to do.

This is not Microsoft. It a user-to-user, self help newsgroup hosted on
Microsoft and other Usenet servers. Microsoft does not monitor or moderate
it. Sorry. Have you tried contacting your local MS office?

Yes, I have spoken with the manager at Microsoft that supports my
institution and they are trying to help but it is now after 5 ET. I am
really, really annoyed because Microsoft has to accommodate people with
hearing problems and they don't. I hear North American speech and phone
connections just fine.

Understood, but asking in this location is probably not going to get you the
help or answers you need. As the saying goes, it's digging in the wrong
place.

Aside from that, there's no information as to the nature of your problem, so
no-one who might happen to have the information you need could help you one
of the newsgroups devoted to MS Server OS's would likely be a better bet.

You need to call Microsoft support for reassignment. The forums have
absolutely nothing to do with phone support. You will be lucky not to
get Asian support instead of India. You can get e-mail support through
your technet subscription. Another soluion is call a Microsoft partner
and pay them to come out and resolve your issue.

Only if you live in India. American calls are routed to Hyderabad.
Indian calls are routed to Atlanta.

So who do Atlantans call, Dial-a-Prayer? :)

(OK, I don't live in Atlanta so if one of you folks who does knows that
"Atlantans" call themselves something else like "Atlanteans", go ahead and
bash me.)

Atlantans with Vista call "The Samaritans",

Atlantans with Linux call everybody else "Fanboys"

Atlantans with 64 bit Linux can't call anybody because Skype won't work
with it.

and finally...

Atlantans with Macs think themselves too smart to need tech support,
they can afford to just call the store and buy a new one.
