Hi,
I have a Dell Dimension 2400 desktop. I got a bad virus while ago and after I got rid of it, it seemed to me that the best would be to reformat my harddrive. I have done that before and I was pretty comfortable about it. Yet I run to a problem this time.
I ran the Windows XP and I chose the install a fresh copy. Everything was fine and I even reached the end of the first process, deleted the partition, created a new one formatted the new raw partition, and everything until it restarted the system. Here, I forgot that I was supposed to let the system run by itself and mistakenly clicked on "Press any key to run from cd".
It took me to the whole beginning of the setup. I freaked out and rebooted the system.
Now each time I try to install the windows, it either gives me various error messages right after inspecting my hardware, or if I am luck and get to the repair or install a fresh copy screen, setup fails at the formatting stage, and gives me the blue screen with error messages.
I checked the dos, and it shows "Microsoft, Windows 98" and shows a Temp directory of 93000kb files. but I cannot run any command as I have tried, it either tells me bad or wrong command.
I am stuck and your help is really really appreciated.
Thanks
