Hello!

I have to sites A and B lets say. Both connected via IPSEC vpn with 2 adsl
routers.
The connection speed is 2mbit download kai 256kbit upload.

On site A there's a server running win2k3 standart with TS enabled for 10
users.

On site B there are 10 clients with winxp connecting through the vpn and
remote desktop on the server on site A.

I have mapped printers located on site B to the server on site A using local
port mapping and UNC path (\\ip\printersharename)

Everything ok till now... The problem is that when i initiate a print
job..lets say a word file 25kb size to a printer on site B it takes ages to
complete. When i open print job manager i see that the size of print job is
about 1-2MBs.Why is that?! Word document is only 25kb...

Is there any way to speed up print process??

Thank you for any answers..

Try:
For HP LaserJets disable advanced printing options

Printing Preferences -> Paper Quality -> Advanced -> Document Options ->
Advanced Printing Features (Disable).

Lower you DPI from 1200 -> 600 or so.

Hello

Thanks for you reply! I tried to uncheck advanced printing features since
the printers are HP deskjet D4200 series but unfortunately i didn't see any
change...
Any other ideas? Is there amy software that could compress the print job
before sending it and then decompressed on the client side?

ScrewDrivers is a 3rd party printing utility for Terminal Services,
made by triCerat. You'll find it here:
http://www.tricerat.com/products/screwDrivers.html

Others are:
ThinPrint's .print RDP Engine
Provision Networks' Print-IT
INGENICA's UniPrint
Net2Printer

just to name a few. For links see my website.
