My Aunt just purchased a Polaroid PDC 3070. This camera is not seen by
Windows XP Home Edition SP2 at all when hooked up to the PC via USB. I have
installed the drivers from Polaroid, and nothing happened, then as per the
manual, I uninstalled the printer because the Polaroid manual said that other
capture devices may conflict with the camera, and that still did nothing. I
have verified that the all the USB ports are working by plugging in other usb
devices into those ports, and they all worked flawlessly. What can be the
issue here?

A printer is an output device.....don't know why it would affect the camera.

Make sure that the USB is plugged into a USB 2.0 port. I think these days
most devices run on USB 2.0 including digital cameras for offloading the
pics taken.

Did you install the software first, then plug in the camera? That is
usually the way for USB devices.

Also, the system may need a restart after the software installation prior to
plugging in the camera.

Does Polaroid Digital Cam show in Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs?
Is the camera not listed as a removable disk/drive in Explorer after you connect it?
Is it connected per the instructions: turned on > set to Playback mode > connected to
PC > connected to Camera?

The printer has the SD card slots and scanner built in, so Windows considers
it an imaging device as well as a printer. This is a brand new Motherboard
with the USB 2.0 ports built in, and they all work flawlessly. I installed
the drivers with the camera disconnected, and rebooted the system, and XP
still does not recognize the camer even as being plugged in.

The camera is shown in Add/Remove programs, it does not show up anywhere in
windows explorer, and it has been plugged in according to the instructions
(turned on, in playback mode) and still nothing.
