Yearning for using the 64-bit WMP because the lack of decoders?
The new year has brought us an x64 version of the freeware multiformat
audio/video decoder "ffdshow".
Download it from here:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=173941&package_id=229162
Latest version from author "albain" is dated Jan 8th, 2008
I had been using this other version:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=173941&package_id=214245&release_id=523000
from another author, but that one has not been updated since July 2007.
It will allow you to play almost any audio/video compressed file both in WMP
and Media Center.
I must admit that I have tried it only with a few of the most common formats
with no problems at all.
If WMPx64 is too "heavy" for you, then use Windows Media Player Classic Home
Cinema x64 version.
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=170561
(also freeware).
