PC won"t boot. Message "NTLDR is missing".

PC won"t boot. Message "NTLDR is missing". My OS is XP and I have a back up disc but it's a XP professional SP2 installation cd and it's the only disc I've got. It looks like I can use the disc to do the repair, And it looks like I have to drop my old os (delete it from a partition) and set up the new XP. Need to know what the logistics involved with trying to install this new os (to accomplish the repair needed ). I don't think I've another way. If there is another way to do it... I'll listen. Thanks for any help with this. tommy
