I have Sims 2 & 2 expansion packs installed & Windows XP Home Edition
randomly crashes completely e.g. shuts down & restarts the PC.
Any ideas as to what could be causing this? I have more than the required
system requirements

Click Start, click Run, type eventvwr.msc in the Open box, and then
press Enter.
Click the Application category.

Look For Recent Errors > Double Click on them > Another Windows Will

Hi there, thanks for that. I got the last 24 hrs worth of errors but it won't
let me copy and paste them. I will retype the ones from around that time:

* Warning - Windows cannot unload your classes registry file it is still in
use by other apps or services, file will be unloaded when no longer in use
(source- usernv)
* Also some AVG related stuff (just info) & application errors for IE 6.0
