Hi
Is there a way (in Windows XP Home) to password protect a USB Drive?
My 1GByte USB Memory stick is used to hold private info. If I lose it,
anyone could see the data. Can I password protect it?

I believe there are third party programs available, but (I think) you have
to install the security program on every PC that it is plugged into. This
wouldn't work, as i need to plub the drive into a variety of PC's.

Can anyone help?

How about encrypting the files. Only you would know what term was used to
encrypt so only you could decrypt them.

Google is your friend.

There's an excellent free program called "Truecrypt" that can encrypt
your USB drive. It has a "traveller mode" so that you can use it on
the go. The only drawback is that either you must have Administrator
privilege on the computer that you use it on or the program must be
pre-installed by an administrator. Check it out...
