partition new hd

hi
I just got a new hd. i would like to partition it in several piece. I tried
to read a little bit about it online. They talk about Fdisk but It seems to
only work with os before. Is this correct? i tried to download some bootable
image design to do the partition. but it doesn't seems to work.
any suggestions?

Forget fdisk.exe - it is a DOS program. Click Start / Help,
then look for help on "Partition". It's all there!

If you are adding the drive to an existing OS...just use disk management.

If you are going to install the OS onto the new drive...you can partition
it how you like during the initial stages of the installation.

But in either cas...you do not need any add'l utilites

If you got a full retail version hard drive, the cd that came with it
can walk you through the partitioning.
