Tried to reinstall Windows XP and had two partial installs before the OS
installed completely. I now have a working install, but have two partial
installs. How do I remove the partial installs

Assuming all is well when XP starts or restarts, you
can likely just delelte them all. To be sure though,
first change the names of any top-level folders you can
find that belong to the failed installs to something
like windowsOLD to make them easy to find for you but
the system wont' be able to find them (usually, not
always true).
If the rename doesn't cause any detectable problems,
then go ahead and delete them to the Recycle Bin.
Don't be too surprised if you have a hard time deleting
some of them because they claim to be "in use". I
think Flash is one of them; for some reason, wherever
you put it, it doesn't want to be removed. But address
those issues later on; concentrate on making sure
everythign still works after the folder renames.

After everything is deleted and all is still working,
and you're sure of it, then empty the Recycle Bin, but
not before, just in case ... <g>.

Or, and this is what I'd do: Start over again right
from remove/recreate the partitions, and make a good
install all in one go. Especially if renaming any of
the excess folders creates problems.

That did the trick. Thanks a lot.
