I am running XP professional with service pack 3. I have always used outlook express for my emails. I use multiple identies. Over a week ago, outlook express started taking longer and longer to open an email in the preview pane. For about a week now, it has not opened any messages in the preview pane at all. I have about three identities that have thousands of emails but most of them have under 1000. But every identity has the same problem. There is nothing wrong with the set up/layout, checked all that. I have searched the net for days now trying to find answers and try everything i can find to no avail. I have found places where they say something worked but when i try to find it, can't do it, too old I presume. I am at my wits end trying to fix this. I tried to get help from ms support but they had none to offer. I tried compacting folders and it did most of them except for the ones that had lots of emails in them... it said it was working somewhere else when it was not. I am going to go split them up and see if that does anything. It just does not make sense that it is happening in each identity and most of them have very few emails and i always move them into my own made folders.
Any ideas out there?
