Apologies for posting here , but I've seen Avast! recommended several times
and a search of the Avast Forum hasn't really answered my question.
I'd like to install Avast on my parent's computer. They run in a Limited
User account ( Vista Home Premium ) and I would like to know if all the
functions work correctly ? Particularly updating ? Some forum posts seem to
indicate that it has to be updated manually ? I would install it using the
Admin account of course , but I'd like to know how it runs in a Limited
account before I go ahead.

TIA

Hi Paul,

Avast will run and scan in all user accounts, but it's settings can
only be changed from within an administrator account or provide the
administrator password to. The definition updates automatically update
themselves, but it seems that Program updates need to be done manually
despite being set to automatic.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thanks !! As long as the definitions update OK , that's all I care about for
the time being. I tried Comodo Antivirus on an XP box , and it wouldn't !

Your welcome Paul. Yeah I have COMODO Firewall Pro and the automatic
updates do not always work. I end up having to manually update them
every so often, but it's a great progam otherwise.
