yeah, i need some help, i jkust bought a 200 dollar sony reciever and i connected the optical out with a optic cable from my sound card to the reciever. It said no signal detected, so i tested and used my PS2, beautiful crisp sound of Tekken 4 was bounceing off my walls. But still, i want my pc's music. I need help, please.

Is there a way to turn it on or off? did i somehow do something wrong?

Windows Xp Home
Sony
Soundblaster Extigy
1000 watt speakers
optical cable
sony reciever
GeForce FX 5200

From what I've been able to find, no one really talks about hooking the Extigy to a receiver, mostly to PS2s, DVD players, etc. It seems weird that they'd make something with an optical out that doesn't go to an optical in ... is there some way that you could connect to the receiver through the PS2, maybe?

well, my friend did it, and he has his songs and sounds through the optical out, iono, maybe i got a defective Sound Card, I emailed tech support to creative, hopefully, they will be of some help. :(

I just remembered an issue that some people had with the digital out on the SB Live, where you had to click some obcenly small button in the control panel or something to activate it. Might this be the case here as well?
