When you format a hard disk then you completely erase
its contents. What you observe is entirely expected. You
must now re-install Windows or restore the machine to
factory condition.

Umm did you REINSTALL the Operating System after your format? You DO know
what formatting means, don't you?

put in your windows cd whatever operating system that is and boot off it by
changing the boot order in the bios usually you can do this by pressing F2
or F10, when you boot off cd go through the usual windows and then when you
get to installing windows just ask it to do a complete format or full format
this will get rid off EVERYTHING on the hdd. and then it will continue to
install windows.

Hope this helps

If you really have just formatted the disk and not installed an operating
system back onto the disk, then the error message is entirely correct. If
the other HDD didn't have an operating system either, then you will get the
same message.

You need to install an operating system (find your Windows XP disk or the
restore disk that came with the computer).

That would be perfectly normal with a freshly formatted hard drive.
After all, formatting erases everything. Reinstall the OS.

You formatted your hard drive and then wonder why there's no operating
system on the drive?......

You wiped the hard drive when you formatted it. You need to reinstall the
operating system from your original installation disks.

Hi
Im sorry I dont think I explained very well.
Yes I know when you format one has to reload the HDD from the boot disk.
My problem the system cannot find the HDD even if I load the boot disk it
tells me no HDD detected.
Been on to manufacture and they want me to send it to one of there workshops
and there would be a charge.
I thought there was a program to reset the bios if this is where the problem
maybe
